Welcome Desk Attendant (part-time, 19 hrs/wk or less)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Welcome Desk Attendant is responsible for creating exceptional customer service experiences. Primary responsibilities include selling and/or verifying memberships, program registrations, and café items through POS system as well as providing facility information, answering, and routing all incoming phone calls.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Provide great customer service to the community.
  • Perform Point of Sale (POS) transactions at the Front Desk.
  • Perform all café, membership and front desk duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED. Minimum of 1-2 years experience in working in customer service industries.
  • Must have excellent computer skills; with working experience of Microsoft Office products. Computer database application experience helpful. Ability to use new software programs with basic training.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Be able to read, write and communicate in English with the ability to also communicate in Spanish is strongly preferred.
  • Be able to lift and carry 40 lbs.
  • CPR, AED (Automated External Defibrillator), Safe from Harm certified within 30 days of employment.

Building Supervisor Lead (full time)

POSITION SUMMARY

The primary function of the Building Supervisor Lead is to supervise and manage various areas of the Facility Department which include the scheduling of hourly employees, performing payroll functions and submitting information on employee misconduct to the Facilities Director.  This position is responsible for opening and closing the facility and instrumental with maintaining daily operations across all Kroc Center departments.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • In cooperation with Facilities Director, manage Facility Department staff.
  • Ensure safety and security of Kroc Center property, guests and staff.
  • Coordinate and perform set up’s and upkeep for events.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Higher education or Associate’s degree required.
  • Four years of supervisory experience is required.  Two years of experience in safety, security or maintenance is preferred.
  • Be able to read, write and communicate in English with the preferred ability to also communicate in Spanish.
  • Have CPR/AED/First Aid certification or obtain within 45 days.
  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Be able to lift and carry 40lbs.

Event Host Lead (part-time)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Event Host Lead will provide support to the Event Sales Manager for oversight of the daily operations of the Event Sales. Responsibilities include assisting in with facility tours, monitoring special events and facility rental activities to insure the customer’s needs are met prior to and on the day of the event.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Assist in management of daily operations of the Event Sales, including assisting in executing sales programs, managing room reservations, and assisting in development and implementation of all Event Sales processes and procedures.
  • Under the direction of the Event Sales Manager, Event Host Lead ensures that each team member delivers the world-class experiences that attendees have come to expect and talk about long after the event.
  • Prepare rental spaces for events.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possess an associate degree in a related field and two years’ experience in event sales or event management. Event supervision experience preferred.
  • Be certified in CPR and First Aid within 45 days of employment
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must have proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet and database concepts, email, and ability to learn to operate various internal software within first 30 days of employment.
  • Be able to lift and carry 40 lbs.

AV Tech (part-time, as needed)

POSITION SUMMARY

The AV Tech is responsible for the operation and management of all audio/video equipment within The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center to include hardware, software, administration of equipment, and associated staff training.  This position is scheduled based on events as needed.  Day time availability is currently needed from 6am to 5pm.

  • Connectivity of Equipment within the Building
  • Assisting the IT Manager
  • Support and Training

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates Degree in information technology is preferred.
  • Preferred three year prior experience with AV Equipment.
  • Certified in CPR, First Aid and AED Use.
  • Be able to read, write and communicate in English with the ability to communicate in Spanish.
  • Be able to lift and carry 40 lbs.
  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Successfully complete Safe from Harm training as established by the Salvation Army.

Gym Attendant (part-time, 19 hrs/wk or less)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Gym Attendant will supervise the gym, service desk, locker rooms, hallways, participants, programs and activities and enforce necessary guidelines.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Provide general supervision of the activity areas and participants
  • Maintain the cleanliness and operation of the gym equipment

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Previous experience supervising, coaching, and working with children preferred.
  • Possess an understanding of the rules and fundamentals of indoor sports such as basketball, volleyball, dodgeball, badminton, floor hockey, indoor soccer and other programs offered in the gymnasium is preferred.
  • Be able to read, write and communicate in English with the preferred ability to also communicate in Spanish.
  • Have CPR/AED/First Aid certification, or obtain within 45 days.
  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Be able to lift and carry 40lbs.
  • Must be able to be mobile for long periods of time.

Youth Development Team Member (part-time, 19 hrs/wk or less)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Youth Development Krew Member is responsible for the direct supervision of the children in Child Watch areas throughout the facility (Clubhouse, Hangout/Game room, Classrooms, Playground), with emphasis on safety and developmental activities that will ensure a quality experience during a child’s stay.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Responsible for the safety, supervision and active entertainment of all children placed in Child Watch areas while parents/guardians are participating in Kroc Center activities.
  • Will assist and work under the supervision of the Youth Development Supervisor.
  • Interact professionally with all contacts, as required, with the general public, parents/guardians, business community, Salvation Army Officers and Kroc Center staff.
  • Follow and ensure adherence to The Salvation Army Policies and Procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have two years experience working with children and infants.
  • Complete the standard Safe from Harm Training course as prescribed by The Salvation Army within 30 days.
  • Computer knowledge helpful but not necessary.
  • Be able to read, write and communicate in English with the preferred ability to also communicate in Spanish.
  • Have or be able to obtain CPR/AED/First Aid certification within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Flexible availability (mornings, evenings, weekends and weekdays).

Tennis Instructor (part-time)

Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor, tennis instructors will give instruction to students of all ages and ability levels in tennis. Design instructional programs, prepare lesson plans and instructional materials, present subject matter demonstrating proper techniques, and perform class management tasks.

Youth Soccer Instructor (part-time)

Under the direction of the Program Director, the youth soccer instructor will give instruction to students of all ages and ability levels in soccer. Design instructional programs, prepare lesson plans and instructional materials, present subject matter demonstrating proper techniques, and perform class management tasks. Class meets on Tuesday evenings.

  • Implement safety measures for classes to insure the health and safety of class participants

  • 1+ years’ experience teaching/coaching soccer required.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalency.

Basketball Instructor (part-time)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Program Director, the basketball instructor will give instruction to students of all ages and ability levels in basketball. Classes meet on Wednesdays at 5PM.

  • Implement safety measures for classes to insure the health and safety of class participants.

Group Fitness Instructor (part-time)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Health and Wellness Manager, Group Fitness Instructors will provide state-of-the-art group exercise instruction that contributes to each member health and fitness goals. To develop and instruct fun, energetic and highly motivational exercise classes for all fitness and skill levels. Especially looking for those certified to teach Kickboxing, Pilates, Zumba, and Aqua Zumba.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • To provide state of the art group exercise instruction that contributes to each member health and fitness goals.
  • To develop and instruct fun, energetic and highly motivational exercise classes for all fitness and skill levels.
  • Implement safety measure for group exercise classes to insure the health and safety of group exercise participants.
  • Insure that the ultimate goal of spiritual, emotional and physical regeneration of all people in represented and infused in all programs, trainings, customer relations, and levels of operation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Current certifications through ACE, ACSM, AFAA or NSCA or any unique certifications pertaining to a specialized group exercise class and/or format.
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience teaching various or specific group exercise programs.
  • Current First Aid, CPR and AED preferred.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English. The ability to speak Spanish desired.
  • Must have physical ability to instruct appropriate classes; for specific class requirements as outlined by industry standards of certifications and or training including but not limited to, yoga, kickboxing, cycling, weight training, aquatics, etc. These physical requirements include but are not limited to, bending, lifting, pushing, and carrying up to 40 lbs., rhythmic limbering, held isometric poses, kicks, punches, stretching, choreographed movement and calisthenics, etc.
  • Successfully complete Safe From Harm training as established by The Salvation Army.
  • Before hire, must pass a thorough background check.

Lifeguard I (part-time)

POSITION SUMMARY:  

Under the supervision of the Aquatics Manager, Lifeguards will monitor activities, observe and provide assistance to swimmers, prevent accidents, protect life and enforce regulations as well as control access to pools, family locker rooms, and lockers.  Provide first aid when necessary.  Assist with implementation of and teach swimming lessons and other aquatics programs.  Provide support for swim lessons, record keeping, lesson cards and lesson plans.  This position is also required to assist with general facility maintenance and cleaning duties as assigned.  Attendance at all in-service trainings required.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Considerately and patiently enforce RJKCCC rules to provide a safe environment for all members, visitors, and employees.  Cautions swimmers regarding unsafe areas and actions.  Maintain order in swimming areas.
  • Must be able to analyze situations and adopt a quick and effective course of action; maintain constant observation of an assigned area to identify any signs of danger.
  • Rescue swimmers in danger of drowning.
  • Provide first aid, rescue breathing and CPR when needed.
  • Inspect and maintain cleanliness of swimming pool areas, locker rooms, restrooms, trash cans, cleaning equipment, aquatic equipment storage areas, and other areas as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English. Ability to speak Spanish desired.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays and split shifts.
  • Demonstrate the ability to relate positively and energetically with staff, clients, members and customers.  Ability to be self-motivated, work independently and in a team environment.  Must also have effective communication skills and engage positively with the public.
  • Must have one year experience as a lifeguard.
  • Must have one year experience teaching swim lessons.
  • Lifeguard training (must include Standard First Aid). American Red Cross certifications are required before start of employment.
  • American Red Cross CPR and First Aid for the Professional Rescuer.  AED certification highly desirable.
  • American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification required, or ability to receive within six months.
  • American Red Cross Oxygen Administration certification highly desirable.

Swim Instructor (part-time)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Swim Instructor is responsible for providing instructional swim lessons for infants, preschool, youth and/or adult participants. The position is responsible for providing safe, instructional swim lessons using the American Red Cross Learn to Swim program. Class sizes will range from 2 to 6 students. Class participants age range between Parent-Tot classes through adults. Classes are held Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and Saturday mornings. Lessons are approximately 45 minutes in length. The instructor will be required to be in the water for the entire class.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Coordinate the design and planning swim lesson curriculum for all levels and populations using the American Red Cross Learn to Swim program.
  • Coordinate the preparation of progressive lesson plans to enhance the experience of program participants.
  • Collaborate with other swim instructors to ensure class continuity.
  • Enforce aquatic rules and policies by maintaining constant surveillance of class participants.
  • Assist in recording and maintaining attendance records.
  • Set up facility or equipment, store equipment, and secure facility upon completion of class.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 16+ years old
  • Have experience aiding/teaching swim lessons
  • Must be proficient in swimming and safety skills
  • Must be mentally capable to handle dangerous situations in order to assure the safety of all swimmers
  • Must be physically and mentally able to respond to emergencies and administer CPR and First Aid effectively
  • Physical mobility to properly use aquatic equipment to rescue a 200lbs. person is essential
  • Certifications Required: Water Safety Instructor certification or at least 2 years of experience AND current CPR certification (life-guarding certification preferred, but not required).

Server (part-time)

POSITION SUMMARY:  

The server position is an as-needed, part-time position. Servers will aid with events by traying food, filling beverages, serving food and beverages, busing tables, set-up, tear-down cleanup and other similar tasks that may be needed for a successful event.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Assist with food and beverage presentation, food and beverage service, bussing, set-up, tear-down, minimal food preparation and other customer service needs.
  • Under the supervision of the Events Manager or the Kitchen Supervisor, servers interact with guests, vendors and suppliers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred experience in food service such as wait staff/server.
  • Ability to act quickly and accurately on verbal and/or written instructions.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Comfortable in public settings.
  • Good intuition regarding how much/little to interact with guests.
  • Be able to read, write and communicate in English with the preferred ability to also communicate in Spanish.
  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Be able to lift and carry up to 40lbs.

Food Service Specialist (part-time)

POSITION SUMMARY:  

Responsible for cooking, baking and food prep for events. Participate in recipe creation and menu building, execute some events without management present, including set-up and clean up. Responsible for cleaning of wares, equipment and space.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree in Culinary Arts and three years experience in banquet or restaurant cooking functions or an equivalent combination of education and experience which, in the determination of The Salvation Army, provides the ability to successfully perform in this position.
  • Be able to read, write and communicate in English with the preferred ability to also communicate in Spanish.
  • Be or become Serve Safe certified.
  • Have CPR/AED/First Aid certification,or obtain within 45 days.
  • Complete Safe From Harm training within 45 days.
  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Be able to lift and carry 40lbs.
