Q: WHY PROMOTE YEAR-ROUND SWIM LESSONS?
A: Our goal is to eliminate the mentality of seasonal swim lessons because that approach can lead to the loss of gained swim skills, resulting in wasted time and money. Because children learn to swim and be safe in the water at a much faster pace with consistent year-round swim lessons, we provide year-round, session-based lessons as affordable option for customers, as well as a consistent day and time.
Q: WHEN CAN I SIGN UP FOR SWIM LESSONS?
A: Download a copy of our program guide or call the Welcome Desk at (616) 588.7200 for upcoming registration dates. Registration generally closes one week prior to the start of a new session.
Q: HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR SWIM LESSONS?
A: Choose the appropriate level for your child’s swimming ability (see level descriptions in our program guide), select your day and time, and then call (616) 588.7200 or stop by the Kroc Center to register for lessons. You may also register online HERE. If you are unsure which level is best for you or your child, our aquatics manager will be happy to help with the placement of your child. Please call (616) 588.7200 ext. 2037.
Q: HOW DO I PAY FOR SWIM LESSONS?
A: There are four ways to pay for swim lessons:
- Automatic debit from a checking account
- Automatic debit from a credit card
- Cash payment at the Kroc Center Welcome Desk
- Personal check
Q: DO I NEED TO ARRIVE EARLY TO THE FIRST LESSON?
A: Yes, it is recommended that participants arrive 15 minutes prior to the first swim lesson in order to get checked in at the Welcome Desk and sign a liability waiver. Participants will not be allowed to swim until this form has been completed and turned in.
Q: DO YOU OFFER MAKE-UP LESSONS OR REFUNDS?
A: In the unlikely event that the aquatic center must close before or during lessons due to unforeseen circumstances, a make-up lesson will be offered to participants. Refunds are given if and only when a class does not reach its minimum number of participants and is canceled.
Q: CAN I REQUEST A SPECIFIC INSTRUCTOR?
A: All of our instructors go through an extensive training period at the Kroc Center. They are well-qualified to teach children swim proficiency and water safety. We understand that you may have specific requests and we do our best to meet those needs. Please contact the Aquatics Manager at (616) 588.7200 ext. 2037 for information on an upcoming session’s instructors.
Q: DO I NEED TO BRING MY OWN TOWEL?
A: Yes. In order to keep our membership pricing as affordable as possible, we ask that guests bring their own towels and locks for the lockers.
